BID DESCRIPTION: Request for proposal for the purchase of mining machinery on credit from original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s).
AEMFC remains deeply concerned about the devastating effect of the COVID 19 virus that has swept across the world, affecting many lives in our country, threatening the families and lives of our valued employees in the process.
It is for this reason that the company has put various measures in place as recommended by the World Health Organisation and the South African National Command Council chaired by the President of South Africa, having declared the country’s national state of disaster owing to the Corona pandemic. This is despite the nature of AEMFC’s business as a supplier of coal to ESKOM for electricity generation purposes and thus within an essential industry sector. The company has also implemented measures as per the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), guidelines. Some of the critical preventative measures put in force are as follows:
As a result of the National Lockdown, AEMFC Head Office employees and non-essential people from its operation will be mostly working from home. As a result, should any of our service providers have an emergency and need assistance, the above employees will be able to attend to assist or get other members of the company to assist.

African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation SOC Limited (AEMFC) had a Drilling Business Unit which has since been closed down. The Drilling Business Unit had its specialized equipment which are now available for sale.
The following changes will be in effect from 1 April 2016:
Suppliers who wish to render services to African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation SOC Ltd (AEMFC) will no longer register at AEMFC directly.
Bid description:
Appointment of a suitably qualified mining contractor to execute mining production at a rate of 1.7 to 2.5 MT per year at Vlakfontein mine for a period of 36 months from date of contract award.
