2. BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION

The above bid was published in the market on 07 November 2023 for the Appointment of a Service Provider to Provide Water Quality Analytical Services for African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (SOC) LTD (“AEMFC”) at Vlakfontein Mine for a period of thirty-six (36) months.

The RFP was published with a validity of 120 days from closing. Bidders are to note that the internal evaluation process has not been finalised within the validity period of 120 days. The bid validity has been extended from 27 March 2024 to 27 June 2024 to enable AEMFC to conclude the evaluation process under the same terms and conditions as set out in the RFP document.

The bid extension validity notification date has been uploaded on both the National Treasury’s e-Tender Publication Portal at www.etenders.gov.za and the African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation at www.aemfc.co.za.

The new date for bid validity is as follows:

       The delivery instructions are as per the RFP published.

Appointment of the approved list of services providers(s) (Panel) to supply rectification coal for AEMFC to Eskom Power Stations. The coal supply required is a minimum of 50 000 tons per month on an as and when required basis, total ranging from 300 000 up to 600 000 tons over a period of 6 months from date of contract award.

Appointment of the approved list of services provider(s) (Panel) to supply pre-certified sized Run of Mine (“ROM”) coal to AEMFC Vlakfontein Mine. The coal supply required is a minimum of 30 000 tons per month on an as and when required basis, total ranging from 180 000 up to 360 000 tons over a period of 6 months from date of contract award.

Appointment of maximum of two (2) suitable qualified service providers to supply and deliver explosives and accessories at Vlakfontein mine for a period of three (3) years.

Supply, Install, Repair and Service tyres for LDVs.

Request for quotation to supply and deliverer a (3m x 3m size) mobile electrified park home (guard room).

Conducting of Eskom Bias Test.

The provision of services for mining equipment at African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (AEMFC) for a period of 12 months from date of contract award.

Appointment of panel of technical transactional advisors for African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (AEMFC) for a period of three (3) years.
